Nagato

Nagato , better known as Pain (Pein), is the recognized leader of Akatsuki and Amegakure and is a major antagonist in the series. Referred to as “Leader” by all Akatsuki members except for Konan, who refers to him by his name, he directs the actions of the others and maintains authority over them. He takes orders from Tobi,who is actually Madara Uchiha, the benefactor of Akatsuki.

Deidara

Deidara was the youngest member of Akatsuki and was partnered by Sasori and Tobi, consecutively, before his death Intelligence Deidara was very intelligent, often using tricks, misdirection, and calculated gambles to get his explosives in range of an opponent, like he did in the fight against Gaara, putting clay into Gaara’s sand when it destroyed his arm.

Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha, who poses as Tobi[1] when first introduced, is a founder of the Uchiha clan, Konohagakure, and Akatsuki. When he joins Akatsuki as Tobi (replacing Sasori), he is partnered with Deidara, revealing himself as Madara after Deidara’s death. Most of Madara’s abilities are still unknown. He is remarked to be the strongest Uchiha to ever live and one of the most gifted ninja in history. He was described as a “very powerful ninja” by Minato Namikaze himself.

Itachi Uchiha

Itachi Uchiha is Sasuke Uchiha’s older brother, and a missing-nin from Konohagakure, and a prominent member of Akatsuki, partnered with Kisame Hoshigaki. He and Kisame were the first active Akatsuki members to appear.

Zetsu

Zetsu is a member of Akatsuki functioning as the organization’s spy.

Konan

Konan is the only female ninja in Akatsuki and the only member to call her partner, Nagato, by his name.
Konan is a shinobi of great power, as she is held in high regard by her partner Pain.

Sasori

Sasori also known as Sasori of the Red Sand, was a member of Akatsuki prior to his death, and was partnered with Deidara, Orochimaru before that. He was the first Akatsuki member to die (at least on-screen) in the series. In the short amount of time that he was shown, Sasori was a relatively popular character. In the first poll he was in (the 6th overall poll) he placed 6th on the list.[1]Sasori means “scorpion”.

Kisame Hoshigaki

Kisame Hoshigaki is a missing-nin from Kirigakure and was partnered with Itachi Uchiha within Akatsuki.
Kisame is said to be the strongest of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. He has been seen displaying astonishing speed and incredible physical strength.

Orochimaru

Orochimaru was one of Konohagakure’s Sannin. He later became a member of Akatsuki and the leader of Otogakure. He was the primary antagonist for most of Part I.Being one of the Sannin as well as a former member of Akatsuki, Orochimaru is an extraordinarily powerful ninja. H

Kakazu

Kakuzu was the partner of Hidan despite their mutual dislike of each other. Kisame laughingly referred to Hidan and Kakuzu as the “Zombie Brothers”.Kakuzu was a very powerful ninja, as every opponent he had been seen defeating had been defeated with little effort.

Hidan

Hidan was the partner of Kakuzu having mutual dislike with each other, and was the second newest member of Akatsuki at the time of his expulsion from his village.
